Hello and welcome to my website! I am truly happy that you are here!
My name is Dianne Fago and I am a self-taught artist living in Omaha, Nebraska. I love creating pieces of mixed media art that are full of colors and texture. Searching for new ways to create texture in my work led me to use a lot of items that were destined for the trash can. I have always been an avid recycler and I can’t think of a better way to recycle than to turn it into art. I also do collage work using magazine images and found word. I have always struggled with writing down what I was needing to say, until I discovered I could clip words and phrases from magazines and books and rearrange them to express what I was feeling. I strongly believe that art does heal and that healing is apparent in my work, which is full of emotions – both the good and the not so good, as well.
I stumbled upon art journaling in 2011 and for me, it was the natural, next step after becoming tired with scrapbooking. Playing with bright colors of paint was all that was needed to start opening up the doors of my creativity.
This led to my love of sharing that creativity with others through process videos on my YouTube channel, on Instagram and a few online workshops. I am honored and humbled to have been published in Art Journaling Magazine seven times now, six of those times being a full article featuring my work. I have also a published article in Somerset Magazine as well as in several zines and publications by fellow artists.
My logo is a direct representation of everything that is my art. I use a lot of flowers in my collages and a butterfly is almost always present. For me, butterflies represent growth and change and I have been doing a lot of both of those things for many years and I always will be. A paintbrush and scissors are my most used tools. And the paint drops are for my love of paint.
I would love to connect with you through social media, so be sure to visit the links I have shared! I am also a YouTuber and share videos of my creative process. Just search on DianneFagoArt and you will find me!
Sharing my art with you seemed like the next step in my creative journey. Please know that each and every piece of my art is created with love and my hope for you is that it brings some color and joy to you each day!
Blessings to you always,
Dianne Fago
